Guwahati: As many as 80 people have been detected with COVID19 positive in a village at Teok circle under Jorhat district in the past 24 hours.
At a time when the Assam Government is trying its best to contain the deadly COVID 19, there has been a rampant rise in COVID cases in the Jorhat district.
Amid the rising cases in COVID19, the local administration has also declared 8 containment zones under the Teok circle in the past one week.
So far, 580 people are been reportedly infected with COVID19 in Teok, informed sources.
Meanwhile, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday has also claimed that apart from districts namely Jorhat, Golaghat, Lakhimpur, Sivasagar, Dibrugarh, Covid cases in other districts are almost under control.
CM Sarma also mentioned that the new SOP will be issued by Monday, emphasizing on the COVID situation in districts where COVID cases are more in number.
The recovery rate in the state now stands almost to 95% which is a good sign, said the chief minister.
Meanwhile, Assam witnessed a decline in the COVID positivity rate in the last 24 hours.
As on Sunday, the positivity rate stands at 2.25% with 1,213 new COVID cases.
A total of 20 patients succumbed to COVID today.
The total numbers of active cases are 22,155.
