Asian Games 2018 | Assam’s Hima Das breaks national record

Guwahati, August 25: Assam’s Hima Das breaks the national record in women’s 400m as she runs the semi-finals in 51.00 seconds. She qualified for the Women’s 400 metres final.

Hima broke Manjit Kaur’s national record of 51:05 set in 2014 in the semifinals of 400 meters.

Bringing glory to the nation, sprinter Hima, popularly known as Dhing Express, created a history after clinching a gold medal in the 400-meter final at IAAF- World Under-20 Athletics Championships in Tampere, Finland in July. Das took only 51.46 seconds to claim the top position in the 400-meter final. She hails from Kandhulimari village in Dhing, Nagaon.
