Guwahati: At least four minors including one married woman rescued from human trafficking at Bokakhat in Assam’s Golaghat district on Friday.

The accused has been identified as Rangila Karmakar.

According to sources, the accused lured the victims with cash amounts claiming they will get jobs in different cities of the country and earn a good amount.

Rangila met an Anganwadi worker, and during their conversation, she confessed that she is an agent in Rajasthan who assists numerous people in finding jobs as maids across India, where they are paid a minimum of Rs. 8,000 per month, sources stated.

She further added that she would be taking four girls and one married woman to get them a job.

Following the conversation, the Anganwadi worker grew suspicious and with the help of local people caught the accused. However, the villagers handed it over to the Bokakhat Police but they claim the accused was released soon after the arrest.
