Guwahati: Atleast 13 militant cadres of a militant group surrendered before police at Bokajan in Assam’s Karbi Anglong district on Sunday.
The militants belonging from the All Adivasi National Liberation Army (AANLA) also handed down their weapons, which included rifles and pistols.
Taking to the Twitter, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Sarma wrote, “Continuing our peace march, I’m glad to share that 13 cadres of All Adivasi National Liberation Army (AANLA) have surrendered today at Bokajan PS Karbi Anglong in presence of officials of @assampolice, @official_dgar & 20Bn @crpfindia. They have laid down arms & ammunition.”

Previously, around 246 militants from the United Gorkha Peoples’ Organization (UGPO) and the Tiwa Liberation Army (TLA) formally surrendered to Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
The arms-laying ceremony conducted in Guwahati’s Srimanta Sankardev Kalashetra’s International Auditorium.
