    Assam: 14 arrested over land dispute murder in Dhubri

    The incident occurred on December 27, where two persons were killed in a clash between two families over a plot of land.

    Guwahati: In a recent development, 14 accused were arrested in connection to the murder of two persons in clash over land dispute in western Assam’s Dhubri district on Tuesday.

    The incident occurred on December 27, where two persons were allegedly killed in a clash between two families over a plot of land at Muriyalighat village under the jurisdiction of Gauripur police station.

    The deceased was identified as Montaz Ali and his younger brother’s wife Jeshmina Begum.

    A dispute over the plot of land between Montaz Ali and his relative Babul Ali had been simmering for some years.

    On Sunday morning, a fight broke out between two families which soon took an ugly turn in which the two persons were allegedly stabbed to death.

    Dhubri Superintendent of Police Anand Mishra visited the site and reviewed the situation. And during a time span of 24 hours Dhubri police arrested the accused and put them behind bars in Murder Case.

    Moreover, Mishra urged the people of the area not to commit such heinous crimes in the near future.
