Guwahati: A devastating massive fire took place at a market in Dhing, Assam, in the wee hours of Friday.
Seven shops, goods and properties more than Rs 50 lakh were destroyed in the fire. The shops which included clothing store, grocery store, cosmetic shops were completely gutted down.
Fire-fighters arrived at the spot and put out the blaze. However, the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
In an another incident at the massive fire Assam-Arunachal border in Gahpur, fire destroyed a house of a local and live stock such as goats, chicken, and ducks were killed.
The house belonged to one named Krishna Chhetri. The fire expanded massively due to a cylinder blast triggered by a short circuit.
The locals tried to douse the fire, though most of the items in Chhetri’s house have already been destroyed.
However, no causalities have been reported in the incident.
