Guwahati: A 24-hour Chakka Bandh has been called by Assam Motor Workers’ Association on January 27 in protest against the anti-labour policy of the government.
The association has demanded to withdraw the ban on the vehicles plying to interstate. They also demanded and urged the concerned people to stop harassing the drivers by installing speed governor, air bag, camera etc.
The association also took a stand for the ola-uber drivers, and have demanded that the authorities of ola-uber should decrease the percentage of commission from 26-30% to 10%.
In the second phase, the association will further stage a protest by calling for a 48-hour chakka bandh during the Assam Assembly session.
