Guwahati: Three youths were killed and another was injured in a head-on collision between a scooter and motorcycle in Assam’s Cachar district on Friday night.
The accident took place at Ramnagar Bypass in Silchar of the district.
The deceased have been identified as Rohan Choudhury, Suhail Khan, and Kunal Kaur, while the injured identified as Dipanjan Dutta.
According to reports, the scooter was attempting to overtake a truck, while the bike coming from the opposite direction collided with it.
Following the incident, three people died on the spot.
The local residents rushed to the spot and admitted the injured youth to a nearby hospital.
After receiving the information, the police also reached the spot and recovered the bodies for post-mortem.
On Friday too, a fatal road accident took place in the Eklabari area in the Karimganj district, killing a child.
The accident occurred after a speeding dumper hit three children on National Highway 37. The truck was travelling towards Badarpur.
Among the three children, a boy died on the spot while two other girls sustained injuries. The injured girls were taken to the Karimganj Civil Hospital by the locals.
