Guwahati: At least 32 cattle heads were rescued by the police and arrested two persons in Biswanath district of Assam.

Official informed that on Wednesday, the cattle heads were rescued during a Naka checking and two persons have also been apprehended in connection with this incident.

According to sources, a police team of Borgang police outpost in the district set up a naka checking and intercepted a truck. On checking it, they found around 32 cattle in it.

The truck was coming from Naharlagun towards Kharupetia, official stated.

On Monday too, police recovered and rescued 24 cattle from a truck at the Borgang area in the Biswanath district. A police team intercepted the truck on National Highway 15 in the Borgang, which was coming from the Gohpur side. During the search, we found 24 cattle heads in the truck and seized the vehicle. Out of 24 cattle, one was found dead.
