    Assam: 33rd Guwahati book fair starts from Dec 30

    Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal inaugurated the book fair which has been organised at a cost of Rs 50 lakh.

    Guwahati: In a major relief for bibliophiles, the 33rd edition of Guwahati book fair started on Wednesday, after it was put on hold for more than nine months due to COVID-19 pandemic.

    Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal inaugurated the book fair which has been organised at a cost of Rs 50 lakh.

    The 12-day book fair is scheduled from December 30 at the playground of Assam Engineering Institute (AEI) in Chandmari, Assam.

    A total of 117 book stalls have been set up on the AEI field and entry into the book fair would be free for all the visitors.

    The Guwahati book fair which will last for over 12 days is being held after a gap of two years.

    Besides, exhibition of books, plenary sessions and book releases will be carried out as well.
