Guwahati: Amidst the pandemic, four mountaineers from Assam scaled an unnamed virgin peak (6240 m) on October 23 in Ladakh.
The winter expedition was organized by Assam Mountaineering Association in Ladakh where seven members took part in.


The team was led by Manash Barooah and two peaks were selected for the expedition – Mt Pologonka (6370 m) and a unnamed virgin peak (6240 m).
The 4-member team reached the unnamed peak at around 11:05 am on Friday and flew the association flag along with the Asomiya Gamusa.
The summiteers are: Manash Barooah, Jayanta Nath, Bhaskar Baruah and Shekhar Bordoloi.
