GUWAHATI: A total of 4,146 police personnel in Assam police have tested positive for COVID-19, among which 16 have succumbed to death.
Assam ADGP GP Singh informed on his Twitter handle about the numbers on Tuesday.
Among the total positive patients, 3,659 have recovered.
Meanwhile, with 2,166 discharged patients on Tuesday, state crosses 1 lakh mark in recovered cases. Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma shared the news from his Twitter handle.
However, 2,579 new COVID cases were detected on Tuesday, out of 34,462 tests conducted in 24 hours.
Among the new cases, 729 were from Kamrup (M), 160 from Dibrugarh, 146 from Jorhat and 110 were from Dhemaji.
The state’s total now stands at 1,30,823, among which 1,01,239 discharged, 26,203 active cases and 3 migrated to other states.
The death toll of the state stands at 378 while, the positivity rate is 7.48%.
