Guwahati: A 45-year-old man was arrested for allegedly impregnating his minor daughter in Assam’s Dima Hasao district, official said on Sunday.

The heinous crime came to light when the victim girl lodged a complaint against her father in police station.

As per official, last week a man arrested after the girl lodged a complaint. She alleged that her father raped her and she got pregnant.

After knowing that, the father took her to Karimganj and conducted the abortion forcibly, the minor claimed.

Meanwhile, on Friday, a police team reached Karimganj in search of the health worker and arrested her on Saturday.

The health worker was interrogated by the Dima Hasao police, and they took her along with them as a part of further investigation.

Further investigation is underway.
