Guwahati: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has decided to field candidates in all the 26 constituencies for Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) election slated to take place on June 8, 2022.
The Aam Aadmi Party also aims to recruit 1 million members by May 31 this year.
With this objective of strengthening the party’s base in Assam, AAP supremo and Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal is likely to visit the state on May 29, 2022.
Not only this, the party has also decided to field candidates in the Panchayat and Lok Sabha Election from Assam in the future.
It is noteworthy to mention that following the recent municipality elections and Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) election, the Aam Aadmi Party has been preparing up for these polls with membership drives and awareness campaigns.
The date of counting for the KAAC election is scheduled for June 12, 2022.
According to a press statement by the commission, the last date for the nominations is May 23, 2022, while scrutiny of nominations is on May 24, 2022.
The last date for withdrawal of candidature is on May 24, 2022.
There are a total of 70,32,98 voters, of which males are 35,55,03 and females are 34,77,90 and the third gender is 5.
Total polling stations for the KAAC election will be around 906.
The model code of conduct shall come into force with immediate effect in the respective areas covered by Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council.
