Guwahati: Assam police on Monday evening recovered an assortment of arms and ammunition in Kokrajhar district of Assam.
The operation was led by ASP (HQ) Mukut Rabha, assisted by DSP (HQ) Punamjeet Nath, SI Swmdan Hajowari, OC of Serfaguri police station along with other officials in the forest area of Belguri.
The police recovered one AK 56 rifle with magazine and 29 rounds ammunition, one 7.65 mm pistol with magazine which was kept concealed under the earth.
Kokrajhar police took Twitter to announce the bust. They wrote: “Today evening an operation was launched by Kokrajhar police in forest area of Belguri under Serfanguri PS and recovered one AK 56 rifle with magazine & 29 rounds ammunition, one 7.65 mm pistol with magazine.”
