Guwahati: In the wake of coronavirus pandemic, the Assam State Disaster Management Authority is going to organise an awareness drive on “Wearing face Masks and Sanitisation among people on behavioural changes required in view of COVID-19 pandemic” from Thursday.
The drive will take in place at all the urban local bodies, town committees, municipal board area in Kamrup Metro and home.
The ceremony will be flagged off by revenue and disaster management minister Jogen Mohan on October 22 at from the Assam Secretariat in Dispur.
ASDMA CEO, commissioner and secretary, MS Manivannan along with other senior officials of ASDMA, DDMA, Kamrup Metro and Home and political department will also grace the occasion.
Meanwhile, Assam registers new 666 COVID-19 cases detected out of 38,585 tests conducted with a positivity rate of 1.73% on Tuesday.
State has also witness nine deaths due to COVID related infections, taking the death toll to 884.
According to data released by Assam health minister 2,02,073 cases were reported till Tuesday. Out of which were 1,74,411 discharged, 26,775 active cases, 884 deaths and three migrated to other states.
