The delegation submitted a letter to the Union Minister with their signatures and further asked to take necessary steps for operational of two paper mills in Assam. They suggested the Minister to adopt the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model for its functioning.

It may be mentioned that a three-judge bench of the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) on May 29th, 2019 had made an order to make the Nagaon and Cachar paper mills functional.

Cachar Paper Mill is located at Panchgram in Hailakandi district while the Nagaon mill is at Jagiroad in Morigaon district.
