Guwahati: Soon after the announcement of the cancellation of the board exams in the state, Education Minister Ranoj Pegu stated that the two-committees formed by the Assam government for Class-10 and Class-12 will have the mandate of one week to come up with an evaluation formula or modality for the announcement of the final results.
Apparently, the evaluation of the results will be based on past academic records of the students from both SEBA and Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC).
Speaking to the media on Friday, education minister Ranoj Pegu said, “The committees will have to come with modality or formula for the evaluation process within next one week. The final declaration of the results will be made by SEBA and AHSEC on or before July 31, 2021.”
The decision taken by the education department has been acknowledged by the representatives of the SEBA and AHSEC during the stakeholder’s meeting here in Guwahati.
Earlier, speculations over following the CBSE evaluation modalities has been doing the rounds, however, no such claims has been made by the education minister before the media.
The minister further mentioned that looking into the present COVID situation, the government after holding a meeting with their stake holders have come to the conclusion of cancellation of the board examinations.
It is to be noted that an efficient committee formed by the state government will formulate the marking system.
