After 55 failed attempts, a 21-year-old youth from Piporadokan in Assam’s Darrang district bid adieu to fuel by inventing steam engine vehicle. Challenging the fuel-price hike, which forced most of the political parties and organizations to stage protest against the government and occupies media spaces, the BA second semester student invented the vehicle at a cost of around Rs 85 thousand.
Speaking to TIME8, the youth – Prasanna Deka, who worked in college canteen to earn the fund needed for his project, said, “It is the result of six-month long continuous hard work.” Expressing his happiness at successful completion of his project, he said, “At a time when pollution has raised eyebrows of climate scientists, I think, this vehicle will definitely help in preservation of environment, if it gets recognition.” Prasanna named his vehicle as H2O.
