Assam By-polls: 7,96,456 electors to decide in five seats

Guwahati: A total of 7,96,456 general electors in five constituencies namely 28 Gossaigaon, 41 Bhabanipur, 58 Tamulpur, 101 Mariani  and 107 Thowra Legislative Assembly Constituencies will be able to exercise their democratic right of casting vote in the bye-election to Assam Legislative Assembly, 2021.

Out of them, 4, 03,374 are males, 3, 93,078 are females and four are transgender. Apart from these, there are also 3,165 service voters.

There are 8,864 general electors above 80 years of age and 4,998 persons with disabilities (PwD) electors in the above mentioned constituencies.

On the other hand, during the Special Summary Revision of electoral roll begun on November 18 with reference to January 1, 2021 as the qualifying date, a total of 43,229 electors are newly included in the Electoral Roll.

The constituency, having the highest number of electors, was Tamulpur with 2,17,432 voters while Thowra LAC has the lowest number of electors having 1,15,971 electors.
