Assam cabinet approves addition of 6 lakh beneficiaries under Orunodoi scheme

Guwahati: Assam cabinet on Saturday approved to the addition of 6 lakh beneficiaries under the Orunodoi scheme and enhancement of monthly benefits from the exiting Rs 1000 to 1250 per beneficiary, with effect from October 2022.

The scheme will now cover 27,775 lakh beneficiaries and the state government will spend Rs 347.188 crore per month for the poor women of the state.

It may be mentioned that ‘Orunodoi’ or Arunodoi Scheme is a new scheme of the Government of Assam is launched on 2nd October 2020.

Initially, the ‘Orunodoi’ scheme provided a Financial Assistance of Rs. 830 per month through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) scheme to around 17 Lakh Families in the state.
