Guwahati: A class 10 student was found dead at Sal Bagan in Lumding under Assam’s Hojai district on Monday.
According to the sources, the victim was missing since Monday evening.
The deceased girl allegedly went for her tuition on Monday evening but never came back, according to her family members.
The body of the minor girl was recovered from the Krishna Basti area, sources stated.
The family member also claimed that the girl was raped and murdered.
Meanwhile, local police reached the spot and recovered the body.
As per the official, the exact cause of her death will be ascertained after a post-mortem.
A further investigation into the matter is underway, official added.
