Assam: Class 10 student kills self after failing in HSLC exam

Guwahati: A class 10 student allegedly killed herself after she failed in Secondary Education Board of Assam (SEBA) HSLC exam in Assam’s Cachar district on Monday.

An unfortunate incident took place Ganirgram village in the district.

The deceased has been identified as Asma Begam. She was a student at the Shantipur Begam Abida girls’ school in the district.

As per sources, a teenage girl killed herself by jumping into the Barak River, just an hour after the result was release.

A neighbor saw the incident and reported it to the family members, sources added.

After receiving the information, the state disaster response force (SDRF) along with police rushed to the spot.

Unfortunately, the dead body of the girl was recovered from the river,” official said.

On Monday, SEBA HSLC Result 2023 was issued and over all pass percentage in Assam HSLC board exams 2023 was recorded at 72.69%.
