Assam Congress Demands CBI Probe Into Anomalies In PNRD, DIPR Appointments

Guwahati, March 14, 2019

The Assam Congress on March 14th, 2019 submitted a memorandum to the Assam Governor Jagdish Mukhi demanding a CBI probe into the alleged anomalies in the recent appointment in the Panchayat and Rural Development (PNRD) and Directorate of Information and Public Relation (DIPR) departments under the Assam government.

The Congress said as stated in the memorandum that PNRD minister Naba Kumar Doley along with a section of ministers were given preferences to avail appointments to their relatives. It may be mentioned that one Bloom Electronics conducted the examination on March 5th, 2019 for 945 posts in PNRD. The results of the examination were declared on March 6th, 2019 and the selected candidates were directed to join the job.

Congress alleged large scale anomalies in the appointment as no viva-voce or document verification was done before joining of the candidates. The Congress also alleged large scale anomalies in the appointment in the appointment of the candidates for 64 posts in the DIPR.
