A delegation of the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee(APCC) on Friday reached literary critic Hiren Gohain’s residence.

Literary critic Hiren Gohain was on Thursday booked on charges of sedition by the Latasil Police for his “independent Assam” speech in the city.

A suo motu FIR was filed at Latashil police Station under Sections 120(B), 121, 123 and 124(A) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Meanwhile, Gohain said that the germs of BJP should be removed by the Congress.

“It was because of the strong opposition from the Congress that the Citizenship Bill was stalled at the Rajya Sabha,” said Gohain.
