    Assam: Congress’ Relentless Protests on Fuel-Price Hike Enters Day 3

    The Congress has been demanding that tax on petrol and diesel be reduced and the common people given relief in prices of fuel.

    Guwahati: Congress’ Relentless Protests on Fuel-Price Hike Enters Day 3 : Serving as torch-bearers of the people’s voice, Congress Party is running its Pan-State agitation against the Fuel-price hike on the 3rd consecutive day on Tuesday.

    Following the narrative initiated by Senior Leaders of the Party, the people demand answers from both Centre and State governments, as to why they remain mum in context to the plight of the people.

    As if the economic disparities created by Sonowal’s government were not enough, the people now have to incur an added burden of bearing a personal cost for consumption of Petrol and Diesel.

    APCC President, Ripun Bora, along with Chairman of the Congress Campaign Committee, Pradyut Bordoloi, commenced the fuel-price hike agitation, in Gohpur.

    The leaders and hundreds of Congress workers held placards and shouted slogans against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and state Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma for failing to contain the prices.

    The Congress has been demanding that tax on petrol and diesel be reduced and the common people given relief in prices of fuel.

    In Barpeta, MP & Manifesto Committee Chairman Gaurav Gogoi, Publicity Committee Chairman, Rakibul Hussain, along with, Media and Communication Committee Chief, Abdul Khelque, resurrected hope in the masses, leading the protests at Howly Petrol Pump, in Barpeta.

    The leaders raised LPG cylinders, amplifying the sentiments of the masses and making an astounding statement, while marking their dissent.

    Congress Legislature Party Leader, Debabrata Saikia, led the protests from Gelekey Petrol Pump in Nazira, Sivsagar where the populace, visibilised their disapproval against the indifference of the ruling government.

    Protests took place in Cachar, Dibrugarh, East Karbi Anglong, Biswanath, South Salmara, Karimganj, Majuli, Nalbari, Darrang, Hailakandi, Sonitpur, Barpeta, Guwahati, Nagaon, Golaghat, Jorhat and Lakhimpur districts of Assam.
