State Congress general secretary Ranjan Bora, in the show cause notice, said, “The Assam Pradesh Congress Committee has observed you giving bytes to the electronic media on November 17th, 2019. You made remarks against the Bengali community in the interview. This is against the ideology and principles of the Congress which is the oldest political party of the country. This has sparked reactions among the community in both Brahmaputra and Barak valley.”

Bora further mentioned in the notice that Deka has tried to break the image of the party which is not ‘tolerable’.

The state Congress, hence, asked Deka to reply to the show-cause notice within three days.
