    Assam Cop Thrashed, Hair Chopped Off By Irate Mob In Raha

    A few locals alleged that the police team encountered the housemates in an inebriated condition and harassed them

    A three-member team of the Assam police in Nagaon’s Raha came under the attack of an unruly mob on January 24th, 2020. Two personnel sustained injuries in the attack. The incident took place at Milanpur area near Chaparmukh under Raha PS, Nagaon.

    The Raha police informed the media that based on a domestic abuse case registered by Krishna Nath against one Hirak Jyoti Nath, the team headed by Officer-in-Charge of Chaparmukh police point, Prafulla Bora had reached Milanpur for investigation. And upon reaching, the accused Hirak Jyoti Nath’s family brutally assaulted the security forces.

    The mob even captured Bora to a tree, brutally thrashed him and chopped off his hair. A video of the incident is doing rounds in the social media.

    Meanwhile, four persons have been arrested in the mob attack–Hirak Jyoti Nath’s mother Rina Devi, elder sister Sumpi Devi, brother-in-law Ananda Nath and a village local Prahlad Nath. Hirak is presently absconding informed the police.
