    Assam Covid-19: Fatalities showing increasing trend with each passing day

    Around 55 persons have succumbed to COVID-19 in Assam on Wednesday

    Guwahati: With a growth rate of 9.27% in new COVID cases, the daily death cases in Assam showing an increasing trend with each passing day.

    Tragically, around 55 persons have succumbed to COVID-19 in Assam after fresh 4,826 positive cases being reported on Tuesday.

    State Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday claimed that as per the Health Department of Assam’s analysis, people staying back in home isolation; don’t take any advice from doctors following a drop in the oxygen saturation level in their body.

    “Patients under home isolation avoid visiting hospitals until there is a drop in oxygen saturation level which goes up to 70%- 72%. Later they succumb to the infection,” said Himanta Biswa Sarma before the media.

    Himanta also urged the Covid-19 patients in home isolation to monitor their oxygen saturation level and immediately visit the hospital if it drops to 90% or below.

    Meanwhile, the total active cases reported in the state stands at 29,915. Of which Kamrup Metro alone reported 1,383 cases.

    Till the evening hours, Dibrugarh district reported 380 cases, Kamrup Rural district reported 370 cases and Barpeta district reported 209 cases.
