    Assam COVID-19 Toll Rises To 191

    Assam recorded its 100th COVID-19 case on May 17

    Assam has reported two new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-10) on Thursday afternoon taking the total toll to 191.

    The two new persons were detected at the Kokrajhar Quarantine Center.

    As of 12 pm on May 21, the total cases in Assam stand at 191 with 136 active cases and 48 recovered patients.

    Assam has also reported four confirmed deaths.

    Assam recorded its 100th novel coronavirus (COVID-19) case on Sunday, May 17 with three more cases being confirmed in Guwahati.

    Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in a tweet announced that three more persons were tested positive for the COVID-19 in Guwahati. Two of them came from Mumbai while one arrived from Bihar. All of the three new cases are in Sarusajai quarantine centre.

    Since then, the cases in Assam saw a drastic rise with 91 new cases in just four days.

    It has been suspected that there are several silent carriers in the state and the government is taking all initiatives to detect those.
