Guwahati: Assam’s Covid19 positivity rate came down below 5 % on Monday. However, total numbers of tests continued to be only around 38,000.
Earlier during the day, Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the state government has been waiting for a decline in the total case numbers of fresh Covid19 in the state before issuing the next standard operating procedure (SOP).
On Monday, the state recorded total 1811 new Covid19 cases out of 38,837 tests done at a positivity rate of 4.66%. The Kamrup(metro) recorded at least 389 fresh cases too. A total 19 people died. On Sunday, there were total 910 fresh cases reported in the state at a positivity rate of 6.95%.
