Guwahati: Two more deaths were reported in the Kalain brick kiln explosion in Assam’s Cachar district, which took the death toll to five, officials said on Saturday.
The accident took place when the workers were preparing the kiln for the process of baking the bricks at noon on Friday.
According to sources, the deceased identified as Abu Sufiyan and Kishore Ashraful Islam Laskhkar died during treatment at Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH).
On Friday, three persons including a child were killed in an explosion, said police.
Around 15 others suffered burn injuries. While one reportedly died on the spot, others succumbed to their injuries later.
The injured were rushed to SMCH immediately. Police have started an investigation into the incident.
