    Assam deports 42 Bangladeshi nationals

    They were handed over to the Bangladeshi authorities at the Sutarkandi international border between India and Bangladesh

    GUWAHATI: Assam deported 42 Bangladeshi nationals, including nine women, who had entered the state through the porous border illegally.

    Police said the 42 people were handed over to the Bangladeshi authorities at the Sutarkandi international border between India and Bangladesh.

    “All of them were deported with the due procedure and adhering to Covid 19 protocols,” said Karimganj police.

    These Bangladeshi nationals were arrested from state’s several parts like Guwahati, Cachar, South Salmara, Karimganj, Sivasagar, Sonitpur, Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao districts.
