Guwahati/Nagaon, September 04: Assam Director General of Police Kuladhar Saikia today ordered to file a case against Nagaon Deputy Superintendent of Police Sabita Das for allegedly asking for bribe.
DGP’s order comes after one, Sourav Hazarika, through a complaint approached Saikia with proofs of Das asking for bribe worth Rs 40, 000 to hand-over his car documents.
In the complaint letter, Hazarika had stated that on August 31, Das detained him along with three of his friends at the Nagaon Sadar Police Station Jail. They were released next day but the vehicle licence, registration documents were not returned.
They were instead threatened by one Jyoti Khaund at the Nagaon Sadar Police station with dire consequences and make the car documents invalid if they fail to pay.
