GUWAHATI: Nagaon Police started an operation in Silongni, Amtola which falls under Nagaon district wherein a special team of Nagaon Police, Assam has arrested dreaded dacoit and criminal Kuddus Ali. The operation was headed by special branch police.
Raids were conducted on a tip-off and a search was initiated where Kuddus Ali was nabbed in a car along with a 9mm pistol with a live round.
According to the reports, Ali was arrested last year but was released on bail. Once he was released, he started resuming his criminal acts.
Areas like Silongni, Amtola, Nermari, Herapatti under the Nagaon district have become dacoits’ hub.
Last month, many drug mafias and dacoits were arrested along with several arms and ammunition. On the other hand, 9mm pistols have become common in Nagaon which is an issue of a scare for the people of Nagaon.
