Assam: Driver killed after train mows down dumper truck in Golaghat

Guwahati: In a tragic incident, a truck driver was killed after a train rammed into the dumper truck at a railway crossing in Assam’s Golaghat district on Monday.

The incident took place at Tamuly village in Borpathar in the district.

According to sources, the incident occurred when the dumper truck carrying sand was crossing the open railway track while the southbound Avadh Assam Express hit the truck.

Following the accident, the driver died on the spot. The identity of the deceased is yet to be ascertained.

As per sources, the truck was en route to Jamuguri. However, the dumper is suspected to be from Dergaon.
