Guwahati: In a latest development, the Election Commission of India has assigned ‘Ship’ as party symbol to the newly floated Asom Jatiya Parisad (AJP).
The AASU-backed and Lurinjyoti-led AJP announced it will contest Assam Assembly Election and released its symbol at a programe in Guwahati.
The party symbol was released in presence of AJP president Lurinjyoti Gogoi and other top leaders.
Meanwhile, Lurinjyoti Gogoi claimed that Exit Poll’s prediction might differ.
“We are hopeful that Exit Polls can claim something. But the people of Assam will vote to ascertain the political and social future of the state,” said Gogoi.
