Guwahati: The Munin Barkotoki Memorial Trust, instituted in 1995 in the cherished memory of noted literature, critic and journalist late Munin Barkotoki, invited entries of Assamese books/manuscripts from young writers of promise for this year’s Munin Barkotoki Literary Award.
The award, instituted to encourage young and upcoming writers in Assamese, carries a cash prize of Rs 50,000 along with a memento and a citation.
Applicants must be less than 40 years of age as of January 1, 2021. They should not have more than three published books n Assamese to their credit. The book-entry award, if it is a published book, should have published between January 1, 2016, and December 31, 2020. Books that have already been awarded at the state or national level will not be considered for this award.
Young writers fulfilling the criteria can submit five copies of their published book or five copies of their manuscript along with a self-attested copy of their age certificate on or before July 31, 2021, at the Guwahati-based office of the Trust located at ‘Panchavati’, GNB Road, Silpukhuri, said a release.
An application form (available in the Trust website) has to be also duly filled up and signed.
