    Assam: Fake DSP arrested by Dispur police in Khanamukh

    The accused was identified as Anup Kumar Das (45), who took money from people for different purposes and was later sent to two days remand.

    Assam: Fake DSP arrested by Dispur police in Khanamukh

    Guwahati: Dispur police on Wednesday arrested a person impersonating as a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) from Khanamukh area in Jalukbari.

    The accused was identified as Anup Kumar Das (45), who took money from people for different purposes.

    Reportedly, Das took Rs 1.70 lakh from one, Hakimuddin to release a car which was seized by police. Later, Hakimuddin lodged a complaint at Dispur Police station after the accused failed to release his car.

    Following the FIR, they came to know that Das is not a DSP and in no way associated with Assam Police.

    Das has been sent to two days remand by the Kamrup Metropolitan District Magistrate. The police is further interrogating the fake policeman.

    Earlier on Saturday, Garchuk Police arrested a fake police officer from Garchuk area. The accused identified as Kuljit Baishya is a resident of Azara, Dharapur.
