Guwahati: The flood situation in Assam continued to improve as the total number of affected population and districts came down on Saturday.
As per the daily flood data, Dhemaji, Lakhimpur, Morigaon and South Salmara continued to remain affected by the floods.
The Assam State Disaster Management Authority’s (ASDMA) daily flood bulletin said 3498 people are still reeling under the waters.
Currently, 34 villages are under water and 645.00 hectares of crop area have been damaged across two districts i.e. Dhemaji and Lakhimpur.
This year’s flood and landslide death toll remained at 38, with no new casualties reported on Saturday.
No major river in the state is currently flowing over the danger level, the bulletin said.
