So far 29,743 numbers of people have been safely evacuated by the above forces.

Guwahati: The flood situation in Assam improved on Sunday, but six people were killed, including two children, bringing the total number of death to 24 (19 in Flood & 5 in Landslide).

The floods in Assam has affected nearly 7.20 lakh people in 2,095 villages across 22 districts in the last 24 hours.

According to the ASDMA, 91,518 inmates are currently residing in 269 relief camps across the state.

The administration has also set up 152 relief distribution sites, according to ASDMA.

A total of 95,473.51 hectares crop areas have been affected in flood, as per ASDMA.

Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has already predicted a wet spell over Northwest and East India from May 21 to May 24 with its peak intensity on Monday (May 23).
