Guwahati: Flood situation in Assam improved further on Monday with weather clearing out in most parts of the state.

However, 1371663 continued to remain flood affected in some 24 districts. Out of the total people remained affected in flood, there were at least 393758 children.

Some 155271 people still were taking shelter in 325 relief camps in the state.

Meanwhile, with one more person found to be dead in flood during the state 24 hours, the total nuber of casualties due to the flood and landslides this year rose to 180 across the state.
