Guwahati: In yet another operation against graft, Assam Police Vigilance and Anti Corruption sleuths have apprehended two government officials of state’s irrigation department on Friday in Goalpara.

As per reports, both the accused Akbar Ali, executive engineer (Irrigation)Dudhnoi East Division, Goalpara and another Jagadish Rabha, head assistant, were apprehended red handed in a trap by the vigilance sleuths.

Police sources said that they were caught while accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000 for flood damage renovation works.
