Former ULFA-I member abducted from Guwahati

Guwahati: A former member of the United Liberation Front of Asom-Independent (ULFA-I) was allegedly abducted in Guwahati by a group of miscreants on Sunday.

According to the sources, after being detained in Bangladesh, the ULFA cadre known as Siteswar Rabha alias Laden joined the mainstream a few years ago.

Rabha abducted along with his wife from Bagharbari area of the city, sources added.

However, his wife Nibha Rabha, managed to escape from kidnappers’ grips.

Meanwhile, she later went to the Dispur police station and reported the occurrence.

She claimed, that the police have not yet register a complaint.

Furthermore, Nibha stated that kidnappers regularly calling her and demanding around Rs 80-90 lakh for her husband’s release.

She appealed Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma to look into the situation and save her spouse.
