Assam: Four Killed in Road Mishaps
GUWAHATI: At least four people died in two separate road mishaps in Assam on Monday night.
While three persons died and one injured after a truck carrying cement met with an accident in Patharkandi area of Karimganj district in Assam on Monday night, one died in another accident that occurred at Panikhaiti area in Kamrup (Metro) district of Assam.
In the accident here in Panikhaiti, the victim was hit by a speeding dumper truck. The dumper fled the scene.
On the other hand, in Karimganj, the ill-fated truck hit the railing of a culvert and fell into a deep gorge after the driver lost control over the vehicle.
Police and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) immediately rushed to the spot and recovered three bodies from the spot in Karimganj.
Another person was also injured in the accident and was taken to a nearby hospital.
One person was also injured in the accident, following which he was rushed to a hospital.
” The deceased persons are yet to be identified,” police said.
