    Assam gets India’s first multi-modal logistics park

    The park will be constructed at a cost of Rs 694 crore, which will provide direct connectivity through air, road, rail and waterways

    Guwahati: Assam becomes the first state in India to get first Multi-Modal Logistic Park (MMLP) as union minister Nitin Gadkari laid the e-foundation stone on Tuesday at Jogighopa.

    The event was presided over by chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal, and attended by union ministers Jitendra Singh, VK Singh along with other dignitaries from the Centre and state at Jogighopa, Assam.

    The park will be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 694 crore, said an official statement, which will provide direct connectivity through air, road, rail and waterways to the people. The MMLP will be developed under the ambitious Bharatmala Pariyojna.
