    Assam Government specifies fee for Non-Governmental institutions

    The Assam Non-governmental Educational Institutions (Regulations of Fees) Act, 2018, approved by the State Cabinet has specified fee structure for the non-governmental institutions

    Guwahati: The Assam Non-governmental Educational Institutions (Regulations of Fees) Act, 2018, approved by the State Cabinet has specified fee structure for the non-governmental institutions.

    In an order by the Secondary Education Department, it is stated that the non-governmental schools charging the fee lower than the fee specified shall be exempted from the determination of fee, provided they obtain exemption certificate from Free Regulatory Committee.

    It is also stated that schools which are charging the fee more than the fees specified shall require submitting the proposal for approval and fixation of fee in accordance with provisions of the said Act.

    The free structure (annually) goes by:

    • Pre-Primary and Class I to Class V – Rs 27,000
    • Class VI to Class X – Rs 32,000
    • Class XI to XII:
    • Science Stream – Rs 37,000
    • Arts Stream – Rs 32,000
    • Commerce Stream – Rs 33,000
    • Other stream – Rs 35,000
