    Assam Govt Declares Local Holiday In 7 Districts Tomorrow For Bhai Dooj

    Government offices and educational institution will remain closed in Baksa, Chirang, Udalguri, Lakhimpur, Sonitpur, Tinsukia and Biswanath

    The Assam Government on October 28th, 2019, has declared local holiday on occasion of Bhai Dooj on October 29th, 2019 in seven districts of the state.

    The local holiday has been declared in Baksa, Chirang, Udalguri, Lakhimpur, Sonitpur, Tinsukia and Biswanath district. All the government offices and educational institutions will remain closed tomorrow.

    Bhai Dooj is a festival celebrated by Hindus on the second lunar day of Shukla Paksha in the Vikram Samvat Hindu calendar in many parts of the country. It is celebrated during the Diwali or Tihar festival and Holi festival. The day is called Yama Dwitiya in the South Indian states.
