Assam govt declares Nov 26 as ‘half-holiday’ for Tarun Gogoi’s funeral

The last rites of the veteran politician, Tarun Gogoi, will be held at Navagraha Samshan in Silpukhuri on Thursday.

Guwahati: In latest development, the Assam Government has declared November 26 as ‘half-holiday’ as a mark of respect to the funeral of the former chief minister Tarun Gogoi.

During this period all state government offices/ semi offices/ public sector undertakings/ corporations/boards/educational institutions etc will remain closed, an official order stated.

The last rites of the veteran politician will be held at Navagraha Samshan in Silpukhuri on Thursday.
