The Assam government on October 15th, 2019, has effected a major reshuffle in the state administration with transfer of several bureaucrats.

A government notification issued on October 14th, 2019, stated that in the interest of public service, M Angamuthu, Commissioner and Secretary to the Government of Assam, Welfare of Plain Tribes and Backward Classes, Secretariat Administration and General Administration Departments and Commissioner, North Assam Division has been given additional charge of Commissioner and Secretary to the Government of Assam, Tourism Department.

Avinash Purushottam Das Joshi, Principal Secretary to the Government of Assam, Water Resources, Public Health Engineering, Irrigation and Sports and Youth Welfare Departments has been relieved from the additional charge of Principal Secretary to the Government of Assam, Irrigation Department.

Rajesh Prasad, Principal Secretary to the Government of Assam, Agriculture and Tourism Departments, Agriculture Production Commissioner and CEO-MMS, CMSGUY has been given relieved from the additional charge of Principal Secretary to the Government of Assam, Tourism Department and given additional charge of Principal Secretary of the Irrigation Department.

Nitin Kumar Shivdas Ithade, Commissioner, Barak Valley Division, Development Commissioner, Hill Areas and Commissioner and Secretary to the Government of Assam, Finance and Transformation and Development Departments, has been partially placed at the disposal of the Transformation and Development Department for posting him as Secretary, SITA vice K.K. Nath, ISS relieved.
